History and Origin

Leonberger’s history is one of uncertainty and speculation. There are countless stories of the origin of these dogs look impressive, none fully confirmed. One of the most popular of these legends is that which refers to a man named Heinrich Essig. In early 1800, Heinrich was living in a small German town called Leonberger. This town was an imperial emblem depicting a lion. It is said that Heinrich has proposed to create a breed that looks like the lion in the emblem. In order to achieve this, he paired Newfoundland, St. Bernard and shepherd of the Pyrenees creating Leonberger that we know today. Of course, the gene could not be determined.
Heinrich and apparently that would be donated to Queen Elizabeth Royal Highnesses dogs of Austria, Napoleon II of France, Prince of Wales, Emperor Napoleon II, Bismarck and the Italian King Umberto. History and Origin

Neapolitan mastiff is known for its strength.

Besides being a descendant of Molos dog Roman Cane Corso is also considered a remodeling, a recreation of Italian Shepherd, known as the Cane di Macellaio, a dog who initially saw the popularity in Sicily. Cane Corso is known that the name originates Cohors word, which means keeper of the court.

In medieval times, the Cane Corso breed dogs were used to catch large game and the dog fights. Since they have not been used for hunting dogs Cane Corso was used as pastors, with the role of grazing animals on hand. Cane Corso is a very effective protector of both cattle and his family.

Cane Corso has not appeared in the United States until 1987, when the first dogs were brought in New Jersey. Over the years, their popularity has increased, but this breed is still rare and not recognized by the American Kennel Club.
